Ingredients:
3 1/4 Cup(s) Milk, bring to boil (save a little for yeast)
13 Ounce(s) Sugar - Add to milk, then cool
2 Cup(s) Sifted flour - Put milk then flour in bowl. Mix
1 1/2 Each(s) Yeast cake - Dissolve in warm milk from above
2 Cup(s) Sifted flour - Mix until smooth
3/4 Each(s) Stick Butter (melted)
1 Pinch(s) Salt
2 Each(s) Eggs (beaten) - Mix with above
4 Cup(s) Sifted flour - Mix until dough leaves spoon
1 17/50 Cup(s) Citron
4 Cup(s) Raisins (or more)
60 Each(s) Cardamom seeds (ground)
Directions:
Cover and let rise overnight (7 hours). Divide into four parts for four loaves. Cut each part into three pieces and roll out each section flat. Spread 1/4 of citron, 1/4 of raisins, 1/4 of ground cardamom seeds on the flat roll and roll up in a strip like a jelly roll. Braid the three rolled strips. Put in greased plan. Moiston top of dough with milk and spread with chopped almonds, cinnamon and 1 t. sugar per loaf.

Cover and let rise 1 hour or 1 hour, 15 min. until double in bulk.

Bake in preheated over for 15 min. at 400, then 30 min. at 325, then 15 min. at 400 to brown. Remove form pan and let cool on rack.
