Ingredients: 7 Each(s) Thinly sliced apples. I prefer Granny Smith. 1/2 Cup(s) Granulated Sugar 3 Tablespoon(s) Flour 1 Teaspoon(s) Cinnamon 1/2 Teaspoon(s) Nutmeg 1 Each(s) Pie Shell 9 inch or 2 if skipping topping 1/3 Cup(s) Flour 1/2 Cup(s) Brown Sugar 1 Cup(s) Quick Cooking Rolled Oats 1/4 Cup(s) Butter |
Directions:
1 Place crust in 9-inch pie plate.
2 Toss apple slices with white sugar, 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 3 tablespoons flour, spices, and salt.
3 Transfer mixture to pie.
4 Melt butter and mix in oatmeal, 1/3 cup flour, brown sugar.
5 Sprinkle crumb mixture over apple filling in pie.
6 Cover pie edges with foil to prevent burning for first 25 minutes of baking.
7 Bake at 375 degrees for 50 minutes.
8 Remove foil from pie edges after 25 minutes of baking.
9 Cool and serve (solo or with ice cream).
Great without walnuts. |
